Providing the Ideal Solution

The Lexia Solutions Group is continuing its expansion in the asbestos market, aiming to provide total abatement, disposal and demolition solutions to both public and private sector organisations.

Since it was founded in September 2004 by former ARCA Chairman and Rhodar managing director, Jason Davy, the Leeds-based group has already seen a 30 per cent growth as it further expands into core market sectors.

Lexia Solutions Group currently comprises three ARCA member companies:

- Rhodar, Lexia’s flagship brand and one of the UK’s largest asbestos management and removal companies;

- Thermac (Hire) Ltd, leading specialist supplier of equipment
to the asbestos removal industry;

- Bagnall (UK) Ltd, a demolition and land remediation firm based
in the North West.

Its wealth of experience and 360 specialist staff, covering the whole of the UK, means the group is always at the forefront of major building, refurbishment and demolition projects.

Recently all three Lexia companies worked together on one of the UK’s biggest healthcare PFI projects, the £334 million redevelopment of Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry. This has already set precedents within the PFI arena as the group had to carry out full asbestos removal and demolition of three old hospital buildings within a metre of the new, live hospital.

Rhodar acted as lead contractor will full responsibility for management, safety and design. While Bagnall UK provided demolition expertise and Thermac the specialist equipment to carry out the work safely, effectively and efficiently.

The rigorous management systems in place and synergy between the
three Lexia companies ensured the project was delivered ahead of schedule and within the £1.9 million budget.

In addition, the group was shortlisted for a major construction award for its key role in the successful redevelopment of the hospital, further reinforcing Lexia Solutions Group’s credentials in delivering major, high profile projects.

The six-strong board, further strengthened this August by the appointment of Richard Collins as Sales and Marketing Director, is committed to further driving forward the Lexia Group of companies.

An ambitious, strategic business plan has been devised which will see the continued expansion of Lexia Solutions Group via organic growth and further acquisition. The group is not only looking to develop into new, core industry sectors, but also have even greater regional presence which will ultimately provide total coverage across the UK.

Staff training and development, in addition to continued investment in innovative technology, is also key in order to continue providing quality, award-winning service.

Jason Davy, managing director of Lexia Solutions Group, said: “After only
a year of trading the group has already seen strong growth. We are keen to see this continue not only by driving forward our three current companies – Rhodar, Thermac and Bagnall – but by also looking to further develop our credentials in new sectors. Ultimately we want to become a key player in providing specialist solutions to the construction industry as a whole."
